'I'm fully all in with Bayern' - Kane dampens on Premier League comeback

Kane celebrates his hundredth goal for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has stated that his desire in going back to the Premier League has lessened and he is open to discuss a new agreement with Bayern Munich.

The prolific striker is currently midway through the four-year deal he inked when moving to from Tottenham Hotspur for 86.4 million pounds in the transfer window of 2023.

The 32-year-old forward has scored an outstanding 103 goals in 106 appearances for the German side, playing a key role in them win the 2024-25 Bundesliga championship - which represented the initial significant achievement of his notable career.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has earlier stated that he would be pleased to see Kane go back to England, where he needs 48 goals to overtake Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League scoring record of 260.

However, the England skipper has now indicated that he is no longer as keen about returning home as he earlier was, and would definitely contemplate extending his tenure in Bavaria.

"In terms of staying longer, I could definitely see that," he stated.

"I discussed openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those talks with Bayern yet, but if they were to occur I would be prepared to talk and have an frank conversation.

"Obviously it relies on how the next year or so progresses and what we achieve together. Right now, I would say we are in a excellent moment and I am not focusing about anything else.

"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had questioned me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

"Now I have been there a couple of years I would likely say that has gone down a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.

"What I have discovered in my career is that different opportunities and different timings happen and things fall in place. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am fully all in with Bayern."

Milestone Achievements and Future Ambitions

Kane is the all-time top goalscorer for both Tottenham and England and not long ago became the fastest player this century to achieve 100 goals for a club playing in one of Europe's top five leagues, attaining the landmark in just 104 games for Bayern.

However, a honor had escaped him until he won the German title last season.

Kane admits that he was not sure how he would respond after ending his trophy drought, but now thinks it has made him motivated for more success.

"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be tempting to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he explained.

"But it's given me more motivation to do more and be better. I think I've proven that this year.

"I was interested in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to accomplish in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.

"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.

"But for sure, I pushed myself the other way in terms of being even better, eating even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."

Looking Ahead

  • Ongoing success with Bayern Munich remains Kane's primary focus
  • The chance of a Premier League return has considerably decreased
  • New contract discussions could commence in the coming future
  • Kane's exceptional goal-scoring record continues to amaze
